Similar to most other parts of the UK, Cambridge has an oceanic climate. It is located around 100km from the sea. In proximity of the River Cam, which flows through the city, minimum elevation is only around 6m/20ft. At the same time, Cambridge lies in the driest region of England. This doesn’t mean at all that it is dry here! River Cam has been historically important for the development of the city and its economic strength. Nowadays, it also brings joy to everyone. It is also very important for the biodiversity of the surrounding areas. This is easy to observe every time you take the trip along the river.
